Alcoholics Anonymous
Florida
________________________________________________________________________
Alcoholics Anonymous Florida regions are well
organized and include individuals interested in Alcoholics
Anonymous who reside both within and outside the continental United
States.
AA Florida Regions
There are three main Alcoholics Anonymous Florida regions:
NorthWest Florida and Alabama Alcoholics Anonymous -
Area 1
This Area (area 1) is the geographic region that was designated

region includes Alabama and Northwest Florida, has 23 geographic
districts, and one area-wide Spanish-speaking district.
In Canada, an estimated 4% of
the population over the age of 15 is dependent on alcohol and there
are twice as many male alcoholics as female alcoholics. The highest
rate of alcoholism in Canadians occurs between the ages of 20 and
24. In Canadian surveys, about 20% of the current and former
drinkers stated that their alcoholic drinking negatively affected
them, usually affecting their finances
or their jobs. |

October at the Governor's House Hotel and Conference Center

| When person is addicted, he or
she no longer takes alcohol or drugs to have fun or to get high.
Rather, the addicted person needs the alcohol or the drugs in order
to function on a daily basis. In fact, in many instances, the
addicted person's everyday life centers around satisfying his or
her need for the substance on which he or she is
hooked. |
North Florida Area Conference Of Alcoholics Anonymous -

| Codependency is a pattern of
habitual self-defeating coping mechanisms. Codependency is
typically a result of living in a house with someone who suffers
from alcoholism or drug addiction. In these dysfunctional homes,
there are three messages that are not explicitly stated but
nevertheless, reinforced everyday by unhealthy actions, behaviors,
and beliefs. These three messages are: don't trust, don’t talk, and
don't feel. |
Alcoholics Anonymous Florida:
Conclusion
It is apparent that the above listed Alcoholics
Anonymous Florida regions are well organized and include
people interested in Alcoholics Anonymous who reside both within
and outside the continental U.S.
This fact alone makes the Alcoholics Anonymous Florida regions
more culturally diverse than perhaps any other Alcoholics Anonymous
regions in the United States.

| Despite all the warnings, public
awareness and educational programs, stiffer penalties for
violations, and efforts by law enforcement agencies across the
nation to be more visible and diligent in protecting the highways,
people will still get behind the wheel of their vehicles while
intoxicated. |

| Alcoholism research reveals the
following fact. The more an individual drinks, the more
likely he or she will have an alcohol-related accident, and quite
possibly, a fatal accident. The same sort of logic applies
when discussing traffic accidents. That is, the more a person
drinks, the more likely he or she will have an alcohol-related
traffic accident, and quite possibly, a fatal traffic accident. The
point: if you are going to operate any machinery, equipment,
or vehicle or if you are going to involve yourself in any kind of
dangerous work or activity, don't drink
alcohol! |
